Welcome to the Cheltenham Twins Group.
Okay, so the site’s up and you know who we are and what we do. One of the aims of this site is to provide content that is relevant to parents of twins in the Gloucestershire area. In addition we would also like to provide information of interest to a wider audience and hence this section – Book Reviews. Initially we’ll start with brief reviews of books specifically about or featuring twins (both fact and fiction). However if we get enough interest we may broaden the scope to childcare in general. Therefore we need your help. If you have found a book useful or interesting and you would like to write a review then please contact us .
If after reading a review you wish to purchase the book from Amazon then just click on the link. A small proportion of what you spend will go to the club’s funds, and it won’t cost you a penny extra. Even if we don’t feature a particular book you want, following the general links to Amazon from this site will still add to the clubs funds should you make a purchase whilst you are there. Whilst we don’t intend to litter this site with adverts and banners, the few we have from Amazon may help us to generate some much needed revenue. Therefore if you are considering a purchase from Amazon, please always remember to go there by following a link from this site. Thanks…
Little Miss Twins by Roger Hargreaves
| Whilst not a classic of the genre – that accolade is probably reserved for the likes of Messieurs Bump, Nosey and Tickle, this addition to the much loved series does at least feature something dear to all our hearts – twins. The plot involves a day in the life of Twoland residents Little Miss Twin and Little Miss Twin, and a visit from a long nosed stranger (a wonderful cameo appearance from the aforementioned Mr. Nosey). Little Miss Twin and Little Miss Twin treat Mr. Nosey to tea at the Ritz Ritz. Without wishing to ruin the ending for you there is a cautionary warning to those of us who have ever wavered on the wrong side of the law. |

Twins and Multiple Births: The Essential Parenting Guide from Birth to Adulthood by Susan Cooper
| This book covers all aspects of parenting twins, from conception to adulthood. It offers practical advice on subjects including how to breast-feed twins, how to deal with toddler tantrums, what you should do if you have a favourite, and whether twins should be separated at school. I have found it very useful to look through the book to get an idea of things that I will need to think about in the future. The author is a mother of twins, as well as a practising GP. This means that she can combine the practical advice of one who has had to deal with these issues first hand, with knowledge of professional research into twins. |
