Social events planning chez Krista, 26 November
Wednesday, November 18th, 2009
Our fantastic new social secretary has organised a get-together for all Cheltenham Twins Group members at her house on 26th November so we can have a discussion on what social events to organise for the coming year. If you are able to come along please bring a few nibbles and drinks.
Krista lives in Hucclecote, Gloucester – please email for full address and to confirm attendance.
Chaps' Christmas night out, 11 December
Wednesday, November 18th, 2009
Paul, self-appointed social secretary for the dads, writes:
“Since the girls seem to have their fair share of social events, I thought it time we had our fun! If you fancy meeting up with other dads from Cheltenham Twins Club, email me back at the address at the bottom of the page.
The date I suggest is Fri 11 December which is the night before the Twins Group Christmas party, so we can all compare hangovers over tea and cake the next day.
Let me know if you’re up for it and if you’d be interested in eating as I’ll probably book a table somewhere for about 8pm, and then on for a drink afterwards. Some of you might not want to eat – if you’re keen to get straight into the serious business of drinking afterwards, feel free to meet us a bit later.
Hope you can make it!”
Ladies' Christmas night out, 4 December
Wednesday, November 18th, 2009
Krista, our social secretary, writes:
“I have done some research and picked Cafe Rouge in Cheltenham town centre. It usually has good food, is central in town, reasonably priced (compared to most places at £30-35 per head) and actually has turkey on the menu
The full price for a 3 course meal will be £19.95 plus a 10% service charge, so this is really £22 per head (including the tip). Drinks will be extra and I was going to propose two bills for drinks – one for non-alcoholic to be split equally between those drinking non-alcoholic and one for alcholic drinks to be split equally between those drinking alcohol.
I have provisionally booked Cafe Rouge for 8pm on Fri 4th Dec but will need a £5 deposit from each person wanting to go and their menu choice a week beforehand – ie by 27 November. People can either send me a cheque for their deposit and their order (email for address) or give it to me at twins group in good time”
Hospital talk for expectant parents of multiples, 7 December
Thursday, November 5th, 2009
Hugely informative talk led by Sally Pratt, a hospital midwife with twins herself, and a mother of young twins from our group. Held in the Parent Craft room, on the ground floor of St Paul’s Wing Cheltenham General Hospital.
Good sound advice and general info. on pregnancy, twin births, establishing feeding and sleeping routines etc. Starting at 7.30pm and lasting a couple of hours, the session also includes a tour of the special care unit. Very worthwhile indeed; no need to book, just turn up on the night. Next talk: TBA.
